Solid pine, three drawers, shaped gallery backsplash, and turned bun feet- all hallmarks of late 19th century American cottage craftsmanship, likely 1870-1890's.
The gallery was originally there to keep a wash pitcher and basin from sliding off. Now it makes a natural display ledge for special little trinkets. The pine is in a beautiful natural light color which is hard to replicate these days...no matter how hard you try.
The character is real- small surface marks, the occasional knot, grain variation across the drawer fronts. That's what a hundred-year plus years like look, and it is part of what makes it interesting. This piece moves easily between styles: cottage, farmhouse, maximalist, collected-over-time.
