This antique oak chest dates to the late 1800s, identified by its period construction and Eastlake design characteristics. The drawer fronts feature incised foliate detailing, framed by geometric side accents—hallmarks of Eastlake-style furniture popular during the late Victorian era.

Crafted from solid oak, the piece balances decorative interest with strong, practical construction. The ornamentation is carved directly into the wood rather than applied, reflecting Eastlake principles that favored structure, craftsmanship, and intentional design over excess.  Knapp joints help date this piece to the late 1800's and help maintain its durability to make it beautiful but also functional.

Brass hardware complements the warm oak tone, and the drawers offer generous, usable storage. While clearly rooted in the 19th century, the clean lines and graphic detailing allow this piece to feel surprisingly current in modern interiors.
